Baker the cat update: he gave us quite a scare last night. His breathing was shallow and he was lethargic. My wife was considering whether we were putting him through too much, but I reminded her of what the doctor told us - "Don't give up."

Sure enough, he made it through the night, and seemed better this morning.

My wife picked up some appetite stimulant from the vet today, and it worked - Baker finally ate on his own. Still an uphill battle, but not a losing one.

@leejackson Poor kitty. Just a thought: is there something he loves, that maybe he only has rarely? Something that he’ll come running for?

@Kitty62862 No, sad to say, he's a finacky kitty, just like Morris the Cat was. His favorite one day might be garbage the next.

He's eating more now, though. That appetite stimulant has him going through kibble and tube-food at record rates. He's a hungry kitty, or at least he was until his latest tube feeding. Now, he's a knocked-out kitty.

@leejackson He’s going to get better. Eating is the thing. I’m sure after all he’s been through he’s just scared to eat. Give him 24 hours eating, he’ll turn a corner.

@leejackson Baker reminds me of my daughter when she got a stomach virus. She was 3. For some bizarre reason, she was afraid of throwing up. She threw up so much, she got scared to eat. Took a lot of work and a couple days to set it right.
