Any computer efficiencados have an idea what the culprit is in my problem?
Older rig, Windows 7 64 bit, but runs generally well. i5-2500k, GTX 670. Recently replaced power supply.
Games started inconsistently running in literal "slow motion", as in frame rate was fine but it was like someone slowed down time. Uninstalled, reinstalled, played different games, same issue. Persisted until I reset the PC. Buddy of mine who does game programming says I should start backing my stuff up.

@lacuda your friend may think that the hard-drive is seeing sign of failing. Is it SSD drive? Check provider software for HD HEALTH If not Check on internet how to check the SMART data.
Why power replacement? Is the power unit. Capable to provide same power as previously? watts

@St_Michel the boot drive is an older SSD (Force GT 120) and the games are installed on a RAID mirror drive set up of two 2TB drives synced up. Disk Management says they're healthy, and whenever there's a power outage they do a full volume resync.

Replaced power supply as my old one (Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold 1200w) was overheating and causing the system to fail.

@lacuda I guess then the new one is more powerfull then.
Is the new power unit come with some fancy software? hope not... could it had been a coincidence? and you have another soft working in background. I don't remember the name but there is some program that kill any process+services not needed before doing a game session like so you run only with essential background soft.
