For folks wondering about Elizabeth Holmes’ sentence: she will not be paroled early. There is no parole in the federal system. She will be credited up—front with roughly 15% of her total sentence in good time, which is hers to lose if she were to commit serious enough disciplinary infraction(s). So she’ll do 85% like all federal inmates.

@GeniusOfLove19 No parole? I have a former friend out on federal parole right now. I'm formerly incarcerated, so yes, I promise she's federal, haha. She did 10 years, and now has like 10 years of supervised released with a PO and if he messes up too badly, it's back to jail.

@kozad supervised release is not the same as parole. It’s supervision period following federal incarceration that’s supposed to help reintegrate into society 🙄

Parole is early releas to supervision. That hasn’t existed in the federal system for many years. There’s old federal offenders still on parole from the 80’s from before they changed the law. The way violations are handled is somewhat similar but they are completely different as it pertains to how much of your sentence you do in jail.
