Officials in Cochise County, Arizona refuse to certify election results, leading to a lawsuit from governor-elect Katie Hobbs: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2022/nov/28/republicans-arizona-county-refuse-to-certify-midterm-election-results
Their asinine guy feelings may well end up disenfranchising all of their voters and swinging two elections to Democrats.

@koavf It's going to be wild west time if the Supreme Court endorses the independent state legislatures theory, which would give state legislatures unreviewable discretion to dismantle democratic safeguards. (Moore v. Harper)
@Coctaanatis The (center-)left wing slept on local elections and judges for far too long and have left these avenues for the far right to gain power. I hope that Democrats are starting to finally understand this.
@Coctaanatis 2020 was a presidential election and one where the lone Democrat in Jerkwater, U.S.A. had his vote count, but if you live in a super-Republican Congressional district, you may not be terribly motivated to vote in elections where your candidate has no chance of winning. Certain Republican bases (MAGAts, the elderly) will _always_ vote, even if their preferred candidates will win by landslides, so this seems pretty intelligible to me. I will look into it more. Thanks!
