(Only) seventy percent of Americans want the 45th president to stay out of the 2024 election: https://www.newsweek.com/70-percent-adults-dont-want-donald-trump-run-2024-poll-1673588 #45 #polling #losers #newsweek #politics #2024election #2024unitedstatespresidentialelection
@Kitty62862 All polls have populations, none are global. And all public opinion is changing at all times.
I think it’s egregiously misleading, when everyone (not picking on you) says “% of Americans, and I was never asked.
They cherry pick.
It’s misleading.
@Kitty62862 Do you feel the same way about (e.g.) the percentage of Omicron infections? Do you think that doctors have to test every single COVID patient to know what percentage are Omicron infections, or are there such things as confidence intervals, z-scores, and standard deviations that let us speak about global populations while only polling a subset?
Do I feel that the way the political polls are presented is very misleading, and often discourages people from taking action.
“Only seventy percent of Americans are against him. He’s here to stay. There’s no hope”.
People are like that.
Should be made to disclose “Of the ###” people we asked”
Period.
@Kitty62862 And if someone were to poll 330 million Americans and have the same conclusion, that would in no way change how much hope anyone has.
But it would influence how many vote.
Don’t make people think there’s nothing they can do.
If they talked to 1,000 Americans, I say they spoke to a cherry picked group in a swing state.
Using the expression “only seventy percent” is intended to influence.
There needs to be clear disclaimers
@Kitty62862 How were they cherry-picked? That is a serious allegation about their methodology.
Baby, have you been alive, the last few years?
@Kitty62862 Yes.
There are damn serious allegations about a lot of methods and procedures.
Disclaimers need to be mandatory.
I don’t like playing devil’s advocate or any of the rest of the both sides games.
@Kitty62862 How were they cherry-picked?
I don’t play Devils Advocate.
Disclaimers need to be mandatory.
That’s all.
If you don’t know how they can be cherry picked to skew a poll, I don’t know what to say. It’s either that, or they threw out X answers.
Of the ### Americans we asked.
It ain’t rocket salad.
@Kitty62862 My question was how they did, not how they could. You alleged that they did, so I want to know more about your basis for making this claim.
@koavf
Seventy percent of who???
Nobody asked me
Should say “70 percent of the #### asked”
Damned misleading
