Herd immunity is real and vaccinations are your obligation if you are able: https://www.jwz.org/blog/2019/10/herd-immunity/ #immunizations #responsibility #publichealth
@Kitty62862 As someone who does not have a daughter with autism but who did work with the special needs community on and off for about a decade, I agree. There is no excuse for outbreaks of whooping cough in the 21st century other than bad science. You did the right thing for your daughter and for society and no vaccine can cause autism.
@koavf
It appears to run in the women in my family. On both sides.
My little acorn is 26.
I wanted her since second grade.
Autism is not fatal.
@Kitty62862 I am equally glad that she has you and that you have her.
It is a love you can’t imagine, until it’s your turn.
A colossal hurricane of emotion.
You learn what it is, to have your heart dance.
@koavf
You are right.
The first noises about vaccines and autism were being made, while my daughter was getting hers.
I thought long and hard, did some reading, and decided the diseases prevented by the vaccines were scarier.
She does have autism.
I’ll never know if it was a shot, or not.
I don’t care.
I will take her special needs, different abled world view, and her offbeat sense of humor, any day.
I can tell her I love her, instead of visiting a grave to say I’m sorry.
