. Whoever first figured out how to turn a heel on socks was an engineering genius. I'm doing a practice pair in acrylic yarn just to size them and remember how to make them, and it's taking a while to re-educate myself on the gusset.

@Cmnslivn There are SOOOOOO many ways to turn a heel. If you're on Ravelry, do a search, I think someone just posted a freebie for the Strong heel a few days ago.

@kismatt . I will look it up. I have at least 6 ways in one of my books and I think I could have chosen a different heel since I am using a contrasting color on the heel and toe. This is like a warm-up exercise for the nice yarn. I'm using worsted acrylic so they will be house socks. Here's the progress.

@Cmnslivn I tried a pair of house socks that starts in the middle of the sole and is seamless. The pattern is kinda wild! I need to make another set, in either aran/bulky or adapt the pattern to a worsted.

@kismatt . That's a nice looking pattern with a neat texture.
