@kismatt @WayneEdH Most polls are done via phone, so they only reach people willing to answer an unknown number. Given how few people do that nowadays, it's impossible for the baseline numbers not to be skewed.
"Responsible" pollsters apply weighting to the responses to try to get a more accurate result, but if their weighting estimates are wrong or they're missing another factor (which they most likely are), then the results will be off, perhaps drastically. #politics
@kismatt @WayneEdH: Most people never get polled. Sample sizes are usually fairly small, and then with the magic of algorithms (even before the internet) they scale it up.
