I'm 47 years old running around after a 1 year old girl. I do not recommend.

My parents live too far away to help, and are a bit old. Wife's parents are waay too old and infirm to assist anymore. Basically we're on our own for the most part (apart from sister in law but she can only do so much as she's looking after the in-laws too).

Like I say, I do NOT recommend having kids later in life. Do NOT do it!

@colweb

I was 35 when our daughter was born, almost 40 when our son came into our lives (fertility issues put off our original plans).

Regardless, I’m certain our kids are better for having parents who were already financially stable, had built life skills together, and were much more mature than at 20-25 years old.

Patience is a virtue of parenting, and my patience approaching 40 was waaaaaay more stable than at 25. I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

@Luber905 @colweb My Mum and Dad were 20/21 and I was 45. I think it depends on the parents.
