In today's slice of "How fucking stupid are you?" irony, my wife's (evangelical DT-voting) niece just shared some post about how "90% of Taylor Swift's songs are about always choosing the wrong guy", and that "she should stick to singing rather than trying to influence her followers"
And the "How fucking stupid are you?" irony bit? Said niece added the following: "I'm begging all of my friends, do NOT vote for Harris" 😂
I'm not a Swift fan, but I admire her for stepping up and encouraging people to vote. That's a good thing, in my book.
@XaoslordErie I'm definitely a fan, even though some of her music isn't my thing. I mean, there are songs I like and songs I don't, but honestly It's more about who she is and what she's done in terms of being a good role model & taking on the powers that be who have tried to capitalise on *her* work.
But I also agree that using her influence to get more young people to vote is a good thing. Plus, she didn't actually tell anyone *how* to vote, just that they should register 👍
@BillyBones it was a brilliantly crafted statement. Clear on her views and why she supports Harris, but only encouraging others to inform themselves and to vote.
