@Idissent @FrankCannon it's astounding isn't it? And these people have the right to vote. It explains a lot

@killingfloorman
"Ignorance is Bliss" was never based on the society, only the single ignorant one...

@killingfloorman
Easy to judge or ridicule the ignorant. Sometimes this may be warranted.

But with the recent control over curricula in K12, whitewashing slavery etc., methinks answering those sincere questions factually with any appropriate context might serve better purpose.

@killingfloorman
To be fair, I wasn't taught any of this in school. What I know, I learned on my own. Maybe some of these folks will keep asking questions until they build a knowledge base.✌

@MotherOfDragons @killingfloorman

I lived in Santa Fe in my elementary school years. Our class, and most likely all classes, made a field trip to Los Alamos. I don't remember what grade I was in, but would have been in the late 60's.

We learned about the bomb of course, but what I remember most is the ping pong machine that demonstrated the law of probabilities. It's probably not there anymore.

@DianeH @killingfloorman
I knew about the bomb because stepdad was USAF. But I don't recall ever hearing it mentioned at school. Maybe a brief paragraph in a history book covering WWII.

@MotherOfDragons @killingfloorman

I probably was more exposed living only 40 miles from the site. A local school field trip. I think schools tend to teach more local and state history.
