@estherschindler I think you meant to say "without substantive analysis. I found that even on old reliablel PBS and NPR we were given "horse race analysis as if the Republicans winning Congress was a given and voters couldn't focus on more than 1 issue at a time.

I find myself thinking of The Newsroom, where the premise was "We only include information in the broadcast if it helps viewers at the ballot box." IMO that's another way of expressing the same sentiment.
