@kendonnelly to where?
@NiveusLepus Into the sea?
@kendonnelly Compassion towards the unworthy is the epitome of the virtue.
@NiveusLepus I am just kidding. My ancestors were among the French deported by the British in 1755 from what would eventually become Canada. Some died in the ships. I donβt actually support mass deportation. .
@kendonnelly I figured. ^_^ On my Dad's side of the family they were exiled Huguenots. In 1731 two brothers who were the descendants of those exiles that had settled in England made their way to Philadelphia.
@NiveusLepus I have Huguenots in my ancestry as well.
@kendonnelly Maybe we're long lost cousins! Howdy Cousin!
@NiveusLepus Howdy! Did your cousins change their name to avoid discrimination? Mine did. Not sure if that was the norm at the time.
@kendonnelly I know the name changed when the family section I'm descended from arrived in Northumbria... It anglicized to Mickley from Michelet
@NiveusLepus I would have to go back and look in my records, but I am sure that is not their name.
@NiveusLepus I was thinking the same thing
