New insight about chaotic managers:
They can't organize concepts into discrete abstract objects.
Everything is on the same plane of discussion.
You can wander around from one thing to another without discernment or priority or relevance.
AKA: Chaos.
I think the lack of skill to organize your thoughts into discrete, abstract concepts manifests all the symptoms of ADD.
Maybe developing that skill will bring ADD under control?
If only it was that simple. And I would posit that while this might be ADD, it could also be someone who hasn’t had to discipline the mind through innate understanding or a good education in critical thinking. @jurban
@ATXJane
That too.
Although, I think it is worthwhile to test for this lack of capability.
As someone that has made a career out of structuring messy things (mgt consultant), I can understand how people end up in the chaotic condition.
I just never had anything to point to except "this is a pretty chaotic mind I'm dealing with here."
Now I think I can say "this person cannot think abstractly.
Explain using stories instead."
@jurban I work with someone exactly like that. It's exhausting.
