Adam Schiff was on ABC This Week.
He's not seeking a leadership role in Congress.
!?
I'll bet he's arranging for an appointment to Feinstein's Senate seat because she's going to retire early.
(I know that her staff has mostly left and her dementia has worsened).
But, Gov Newsom is probably forcing him to endorse him for a Presidential run against Biden.
If he doesn't get the appointment it's because he stayed loyal to the President.
@Embers
The funding source doesn't have to be exclusively targeting the specific campaign.
And, arguably, it benefited his recent gubernatorial campaign.
Plus, he doesn't yet have a presidential campaign account.
Yet, I don't think funds are limited to seeking a specific office.
Any idea if there are laws constraining cross-campaign use if it is for the same person?
@jurban There are some very specific laws regarding campaign funds. For instance now that the DFG has declared his candidacy there are laws about his ability to use the funds raised for his legal defense and bs stop the steal funds for his campaign. I believe campaign funds raised to run for one office are not transferable for use to run for a different office than that which they were raised for. There must be an election law expert on CoSo who'd know for sure 🙂
@jurban By his gubernatorial campaign funds.
