@jurban i suspect they won’t ever be returned to their rightful owners.
If they ignore NAGPRA in the first place, that is.
I suspect the tribe and the museum worked out a deal because these were stolen objects. The museum voluntarily returns them to avoid NAGPRA lawsuits and the tribe has a collection that will bring them a sort of sick prestige and tourism.

The ones calling themselves natives very often don’t act like natives anymore.
There’s a colonized mindset.
@jurban lol no.. I’ve been dealing with my own drama regarding this. Sorry to see how it affects him, though. Truly sorry.
If there’s anything to what they say… the spirits will come back on those who did this for financial gain.
