If you think "it couldn't happen here", consider this:
- People we consider "bad" don't think they are bad
- People have a propensity to consider the good intentions of others, otherwise we could not function as a society
- People directed by a spiritual path discount rationality
- Most people cannot discern between true and false information
- Incrementally changing the baseline (i.e. How we do things here) allows the next incremental change and makes people comfortable with the result

I'm attempting to break through people's complacency with these points.
Hopefully it provides the clear-minded with a perspective on why the rest of society will probably not take action.
