My daughter just told me there’s a boy at her school picking on her because of her appearance. He told her her clothing look like she got it out of a dumpster. She likes baggy clothing but it’s new. I remember cruel kids like that. There were twin boys who used to pick on me because I didn’t wear designer clothing… funny how later, I ended up being paid to wear designer clothing, though. I told her this. I’m not sure how helpful it was but perhaps… kids can be so hateful, sometimes.

Kids have not yet learned empathy.
Some never do.
The scary part about this is that children have not yet realized that what people think about them is not really a threat anymore. It's a primal reaction. When we needed friends to warn us about the tiger about to eat us, not having the support of friends could get you killed. Not anymore.
