Heard a so-called legal pundit on the radio today saying Trump will get convicted in D.C. and New York because the jury pools and the judges there are prejudiced against Trump. The host pushed back: So you don’t have faith in the justice system? Answer: “No.” But what about the case in Florida, where the jury pool is pro-Trump and the judge there has already shown favoritism toward Trump? Answer: “That’s different. Biden didn’t lose Florida by that much, so the jury would be fairer.” C’mon.
Obstruction of an official proceeding. Can someone explain to me why this is the serious charge every legal pundit thinks it is? For an example, if, during a vote in the House, someone comes running down the aisle in the house, naked, waving a flag, and tooting a horn and evades security for five minutes or so, is he guilty of obstructing an official proceeding? Well, yes. Of course. Seems to me there should be a more serious sub paragraph to that charge involving Trump.
It’s not technically illegal to pay for the lawyers for those accused of the same crimes as you, but it reeks of conflict of interest, something we’ve already seen in Abby Grossberg’s suit against Fox News and with Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony preparation for the J6 hearings. Would a lawyer urge his client to accept an immunity plea deal that involves flipping on the one who is paying him? He should, of course, but would he?
So the MAGA crowd doesn’t care about Trump indictments. It’s political, the Deep State, a corrupt DOJ, etc. Fine. But what if their beloved leader is behind bars? What then? Riots in the streets would be their only option. Even if Trump makes a deal to avoid prison time - a real possibility - he’d be barred from public office. And there’d still be riots in the streets. Thanks, DJT, for bringing us into another civil war.
Republicans have found a new way to criticize the government (Biden). UAPs! They’re excited about it now, even though UFOs have been a source of controversy for decades. Now it’s a national security issue, and the Biden administration needs to come clean about the cover-up. Yeah, just like Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, two Bushes, and Trump did.
The Republican Party has become the MAGA Party. Even if it loses Trump, it will find a facsimile. It’s time for a party to emerge that embodies the best of what the Republicans used to be. It might take several election cycles to gain a footing, but the country needs it. Obviously, the No Labels Party ain’t that party.
