WTF? The right wing is blaming the submersible tragedy on wokeness. And Boebert and Taylor-Green are fighting over who would be the first to bring an impeach Joe Biden resolution to the floor of the House. And Adam Schiff was censored by the House because he had the temerity to try to bring Trump to account for the Zelensky phone call and instigating the Jan. 6 insurrection. Can it get any crazier? Yes! Stay tuned.

@johnldeboer According to Google
The cost to charter a private flight to/from Alaska starts at around $2,000 an hour* in a turboprop, $5,000 an hour* in a light jet, $7,000 an hour* in a midsize jet, and $10,000 an hour* or more for a long range jet or VIP airliner.

@johnldeboer A couple of years ago I got a quote from a charter jet company for a round-trip flight for eight from Delaware to SFO. We're not private-jet people; my mom refuses to go to commercial airports anymore and I wanted to bring her to California. The charter company gave me an estimate of $50k. We didn't make it past the quotation stage.

I’ve never flown in a private jet and am not a member of the NetJets set, so I’m curious. Any private jet flyers out there who can tell me how much a flight from D.C. to Alaska would cost?

Okay, I’ve commented recently about air fares and the fact that the only way I’d fly across country would be in First Class, despite the hefty premium. But get this: Justice Alito claimed that his private jet ride to Alaska, paid for by a Republican fat cat, cost less than a commercial flight would. Obviously, Alito does not ever fly commercial, or he’d know. The seat was vacant, he says, so he essentially got to ride for free. Yeah, that seat was vacant because it was reserved for him!

Typo alert: Giuliano should be Giuliani. Aargh!

I don’t think we’ll see Trump sitting down for an interview - even with Fox News! - without a supporting audience ever again. Which should let his lawyers catch a breath.

Well, now we know. Garland wasn’t investigating Trump for his role in Jan. 6 until the House Jan. 6 Committee unearthed all the evidence. McCaskill had it right all along: Garland is feckless. Afraid it would look political? Republicans have no such restraints.

Sen. Tim Scott said that if he were elected President, he’d get DOJ to go after Hunter Biden to finish the job that so far has failed. This from a man who has accused Biden of weaponizing DOJ.

I’m back! Took all day to get from San Diego to Wilmington, N.C. And then an Uber ride to my brother-in-law’s house (He was supposed to pick us up from the airport, but he had to go to N.J. on an emergency) . Then, the next morning, the 50-minute drive to Oak Island.

Gotta tell you, flying ain’t fun, but doing it First Class made it tolerable. Never again will I fly regular across the country. Is it worth the extra cost (more than three times the regular rate)? No! But it beat the alternative!

Last day in San Diego.☹️ Granddaughter Ali graduated from high school with beaucoup honors, including president of the student body. She’ll be going to UC Berkeley in the fall. Hanging out with son Todd to watch the U.S Open - a Father’s Day tradition in the DeBoer family. Great times!

Flying out to San Diego to attend a granddaughter’s high school graduation and celebrate Father’s Day with my son watching the U.S. Open. Best day of the year!

Yes, we have a two-tiered justice system much of the time, I’m sad to say. But it favors the rich and prominent. Trump would have us believe that it singles out rich, prominent people like him for prosecution. Give me a break.

I’m getting over my skis here, since there hasn’t been a trial, let alone a conviction, but what if Trump went to prison? Would he still get Secret Service protection? So he wouldn’t get shivved in the shower? Yeah, I think about stuff like that. I’m retired!

Are you kidding me? Judge Cannon, she who had ruled that a special master was needed in the classified documents case and got reversed by a conservative appeals court - twice! - will be the judge in Trump’s trial. It’s supposed to be a random selection. Sure doesn’t look like it. What’s going on? She needs to be recused!

Commissioner Monahan did not do enough to avoid a merger with LIV. Okay, the PGA Tour was in financial trouble, but weren’t there Wall Street tycoons who could have invested in the PGA to keep it afloat until LIV collapsed? Because LIV was not sustainable. Saudi money is not infinite, TV networks don’t cover it, and where would it get young players to replace the aging has-beens?

Until these Republicans like Pence, Christie, Sununu, who are now getting credit for criticizing Trump, can say they will not support a nominated Trump for election instead of hedging and saying that Trump won’t get the nomination, you can ignore their statements as worthless. All candidates who make it to the debate stage will be asked if they will support whoever is nominated, and they will all check that box - except, of course, Trump!

Well, let’s see. Comer, Boebert Gomert. Anybody notice a trend? Maybe that’s why Stephen Colbert changed the pronunciation of his last name?

I think I figured it out. The PGA Tour must have been in financial trouble - because they raised the payouts for tournaments to compete with LIV. Apparently, they used money they didn’t have. So they went crawling to the Saudis. I’m disgusted by the whole thing.
