One of the things I'm hoping to find on is a more measured look at extremism.

Twitter had a tendency to get really manic (civil war is going to break out any minute now and we're all going to die) when it came to the opposite political side while playing ostrich when it came to violent extremism perpetrated by the extreme end of one's own political side.

Bad people are bad people. Calling them out on violent acts and threats should be universal.

@jjmacnab I agree. Is there some specific example you can point to? I was not a typical birdsite user and only engaged with folks I followed, didn't comment much- but the vast majority of civil war talk I saw came from one bunch. And I think that we all know which group I am referring to. Did I miss advocacy for violent extremism in appreciable frequency from other than the Right? Seriously asking, I was totally siloed over there. Thanks.
