It's been a week or so, so I'm going to do an AMA if any of you want to get to know me. No question is out of bounds, but don't ask if you don't want an answer.
I'll check in every hour or so and respond.
@JonathanF I'll play! What's your favourite brand of socks?
@jenneviere For myself, or to see on others?
I really appreciate that men's socks have ventured into colors, patterns, and softer materials over the years. So I'm still discovering and open to recommendations.
@JonathanF I mean, now that you mention it, both!
For recs: Bombas for quality and their lifetime guarantee, and Sock Dreams to just fill up that drawer with fun and functional socks. Sock Dreams is a woman owned store in Portland, and they ROCK. I've worked directly with the team, such good folks, it's where I get 90% of my sock drawer.
@jenneviere I love Sock Dreams and StockinGirl (yes, they sell socks as well - get your mind out of my gutter).
I did reflexology for a bit, and gave a "secret discount" for clients who wore wild/fashionable hosiery.
@JonathanF Love this. I don't own any non-fun socks, it's one of my quirks, but I make sure to wear the EXTRA fun knee-high ones when I go to my gynecologist. Double duty: keeps my legs warm in the stirrups and entertains my doc.:)
@jenneviere I had a bartender show me her socks the other weekend. She was proud of them! They had Einstein printed up the front, so we talked about physics for a couple of hours (then the bar got busy).
@JonathanF I wear knee-high boots as my out-and-about daily wear, so fun socks are almost a prerequisite.
@jenneviere I am in favor of fun socks and hosiery in general. You should take care of the two things that get your body and mind from one place to another, so you might as well have fun with it!
Going without only accelerates arthritis and other issues (not to get geeky about it).
@JonathanF that ribbing in the image makes my legs itch just looking at it!
@jenneviere I completely understand! I love the pattern, but I'm also tactile when it comes to clothing, and always prefer softer fabrics.
