@ceorl Thank you for the lovely welcome!
@jdiannedotson
And quite sincere. It really is different here.
If you have any questions, just ask. Helpers will leap up ;)
@ceorl It’s a good place to be!
@jdiannedotson
Oh by the way, you will probably want to follow the #writing and #writingcommunity hashtags. That can be your first custom column ;)
@ceorl how and where do I make columns? Is that in the guide?
@jdiannedotson
Yes, but the very short version,
Click on or search for a hashtag.
It will open in a new column.
Use the menu at the top right of the column to "pin" and then add any additional hashtags you would like to include, and move the column left/right with the <> thingies to the desired location.
Done! :)
@ceorl this must work better for desktop because it doesn’t form a new column in the app
@jdiannedotson
Oh! I'm so sorry. I should always ask whether people are on phone or desktop. You are right, the column stuff is for desktop. The mobile versions are CoSo To Go, but desktop is the power version.
I believe you can use the desktop version on your phone or tablet though in a browser. I have even heard of it working in Safari, though that was just once ;)
@ceorl it does work in Safari sometimes 😁
@jdiannedotson I always thought that the combination of teenagers and being a biologist would make for a great writing source pool. 🤣
@Brace It does 😂
@jdiannedotson Welcome Dianne! I know you'll come to enjoy this community, it's definitely a more relaxed atmosphere than Twitmo but you make it your own, no ads or algorithms is actually a palpable difference that you'll notice more after a day or two and even more the longer. you stay around! Have fun!
@catmomdo Thank you for the lovely intro!
@jdiannedotson You're welcome! The only thing I had. to get used to using hashtags so ppl could find/filter their content here (being no optimizing code to do your culling for you). Also the mobile app is much simpler if you're overwhelmed by all the functionality/features of the desktop. You'll also find this community extremely helpful, just ask! 😊
@catmomdo yay!
@jdiannedotson
Welcome Diane!
CoSo seems to be becoming the writer's haven lately :)
Excellent intro, and using hashtags and right-side-up photos on the first post. Bravo!
I have nothing to teach you, but here is a souvenir: https://counter.social/userguide.pdf
