I know it's been added for a little while now, but I just now finally got the chance to try out the CoSo TV news streaming feature, and OMG what a brilliant idea! Not that I need more reasons to binge watch news these days, hahaha

Been working non-stop for a couple of weeks and finally starting to come up for air... it will be nice to be able to catch up here!

What's happening in Poly U in Hong Kong is horrifying... seems to be taking a very dark turn today

I often disappear from CoSo (and the internet in general) for days on end when my work deadlines are pressing, but I always feel like I can come back here and feel at home anytime. It's like the neighborhood diner or pub where people wander in and out, but the conversation is always happening. Signing up for is a no-brainer for me!

I'm reading that this fire is under control right now (I hope), but this picture of the fire in Vallejo CA is terrifying. For those who don't know Bay Area geography, this is *not* out in the wilderness! Pic screencapped from Twitter:

The Kincaid Fire in Sonoma is really something else - evacuation map shows a HUGE area, and it's 10% contained as of now. Link to source here: sonomacounty.maps.arcgis.com/a

I hate having to do this.

November is next month. It's the most expensive month COSO has to navigate.

Participation inside COSO will always be free. Protections are the same for Non-Pro or Pro members alike.

But if you were thinking of going PRO, now's a great time.

It's a cup of coffee per month.

Peace. 🙏

PG&E confirmed it would begin power shut-offs in the Bay Area Saturday.

The number of affected customers rose from 850,000 to 940,000. Read the full six-phase plan here:

Here we go again, Bay Area! Here is a map of approximate PG&E shutdown areas starting tomorrow (orange = shut off). Alameda County says it is scheduled to be affected around 5pm, not sure about other counties

@jaybee165

Upgraded to 4.7 with several mini quakes every three minutes, making coffee and staying alert. Working all night to night. Hope it’s not a foreshock.

Remember where your shoes are..,

Sounds like most Oakland hills folks have power back now... hope no one suffered too much. But PG&E needs to be held responsible for the decades of neglect that led to this

Came across this cute mini art installation on a sidewalk tree stump this morning, and apparently the artist has left quite a few more around foundontelegraph.com

Oakland hills finally lost power a few minutes ago from what I'm hearing...the uncertainty of what would happen and when has really added to people's stress

I just received this short clip from Northern Syria. A Turkish helicopter flying over Qamishli.

One of my sources filmed it today around 1730 hr local time. She just sent it to me. Clip short because net is slow. She said people are terrified. No one know what to do.

For anyone in the Bay Area who may need it, here is a list from PG&E about community centers they are opening tomorrow for people affected by the power shutoff. Only open during daylight hours though!
