@etymologik @BreakingNews Thanks! That's exactly the sort of thing I was looking for
@TheRose I have seen a few Trump supporters here but have not engaged (nor do i really want to). However, I have encountered many thoughtful conservatives who are not Trump supporters, and I like having the opportunity to interact with them and challenge my assumptions
@afmack21 Hahahahahaha
@Snarkyengineer I'm using Tusky on an S8. Works well, but you lose some of the functionality of the web interface
@katharsys2012 Real or fake?
Because of Mastodon's search restrictions, it seems harder to find #news here. So I thought I would start sharing a link to a great news aggregator with a weekly roundup of stories about #California, the California Sun. Here is this week's roundup: https://www.californiasun.co/email/redwood-getaways-ending-cash-bail-knockout-art-shows/
Nice to see lots of new activity here on #CoSo! I have to post more myself
I figured Cyborg would win, but Holm held her own. Very impressive! #ufc219
@DanceLight Their music was fantastic, too!
Very cool artifact! https://twitter.com/Jamie_Woodward_/status/945608944424308736
@liminal Californian here - I share several of your hazards! I go through prepping periods and then get lazy, but the food/water needs to be restocked. I'm trying to do better
@TheAbbotTrithemius Absolutely, I think people will need to detox. Even though I tried to follow informative people over there, it was still a barrage of non-stop freakouts over crises. While I agree that there are indeed crises, the noise kept me in a constant
state of anxious arousal. I feel that I'll do better thinking here
@DrunkenKarnieMidget That's important to know! I'll be sure to check
Mentioned on Twitter that Nazis are terrible, spent three hours blocking people who defended Nazis, played "what about?", Sealioned, or treated the threat posed by Nazis as a fun thought experiment because they've never been threatened by Nazis. Twitter enables people like that, and the world is a demonstrably worse place because of it. So I'm glad to have this new social network to spend time on.
Couch potato. Enjoy history, science-ey stuff, and Bay Area fog! I follow people who seem to have interesting things to say/share
