English suffers from a problem: a lack of gender (and sex) neutral pronouns in a society that assumed male affiliation.

I'm more aware than ever that assuming someone is a man is wrong.

What singular and plural forms do you use to communicate that you understand our language has deficiencies without having to type out an essay explaining your beliefs?

How do you like people to address you when they don't know who you are or how you identify?

@ProjectUnmanaged In conversation, I find myself using the singular "they." It has the advantage of being commonly used, and it follows the same model as "you" replacing "thou"
