@Ellis564 @thewebrecluse @LnzyHou I do believe in therapy. Don't get me wrong. I wouldn't have survived without it. I had a plan. But I didn't need a hug, I needed tools to manage CPTSD. I still use the tools and I still need them. There are times I go back to get a tune-up. A person who uses the tools is the one I trust to help me learn how to use them.
@jasod @Ellis564 @LnzyHou I'm glad you were able to find someone to help you work with the tools you KNEW you needed, just didn't know necessarily what those tools were. Again, someone who can GUIDE you through a process that you know you need and help you in that ... not just tell you how to "cope", but how to raise you up so you don't need to RELY on them constantly ... but teach you to have a foundation of your own to build on with your own knowledge and power. That's RARE to find.
