Watched Under the Volcano. Similar to The Man Who Would Be King, a I found much more fun, Volcano is old-hollywood material given new-hollywood flourishes. Not uninteresting, but a little overrated.

Black friday $2 Showtime deal led to some on my to-do list.

First up, a long overdue rewatch of The Sting. Not nearly as close to Butch & Sundance as I remembered.

I'm on team , since it's shorter, but I'm willing to change to since it's more specific.

Out: Latte extra shot, or hammerhead/red eye. Cafe Cubano if available (not often).

Home: Trader Joe french roast cold brew concentrate with almond milk.

Airplane viewing continued: Nope.

Airplane viewing: Clerks III. A crude comedy hiding in ninety minutes of grief therapy.

On travel and wondering if daytime HBO was this bad before the merger.

Confess, Fletch is the sustainable version we deserve -- and that I fear we won't see more of.

HBO 11/22 Scorsese shorts ranked.

None are uninteresting, but it's no surprise that the personal subjects were the best.

#5. American Boy
#4. What's a Nice Girl Like You...
#3. The Big Shave
#2. It's Not Just You, Murray!
#1. Italianamerican

Continuing down the Scorsese short-film rabbit hole. Three down, two to go.

On the positive side of the new month, early short Scorsese films now on hbo. Yay, completism!

With options limited, ended up with 2003's UFO doc Out of the Blue, which failed the low bar of '70s In Search Of... watchability I craved for a Halloween close-out.
