As a white person I've never found it difficult to understand that I am not part of a monolithic group politically. Why white people can't seem to grasp that concept when it comes to other groups such as blacks and hispanics is only somewhat puzzling.

@dauphin87 John, the behaviour of many "white" people leaves me dumbfounded. My father used to say that if you saw past the skin of everyone on the planet, we'd all look the same. I don't get the hatred. I really don't. It simply does not compute. Blacks, whites, and every shade in between can be bad, or can choose to be awesome. I'd rather believe most choose to be awesome.
