They had a general direction to look (from the civilian warnings a minute or two earlier).

They did not have sight of the shooter or know exactly which roof the assassin was on until the assassin fired.

At least one of the counter snipers returned fire almost instantly. But did not kill the assassin with his first shot.

This was NOT the only SS counter sniper team on site. When the assassin continued firing, both (or more) teams took him out.

I think that they're winning.

The world, the mass media, maybe even many of the Ukrainian politicians and people don't know that yet.

But I also think that the Ukr military does know that, and they know that time is on their side.

That T-72B models are showing up, and getting taken out in large numbers means that Russia has run out of or run very low on their top of the line "modern" tanks.

Those tanks come from Category II units.
