I just ran into a student who is about to graduate with their Master's degree, they are terribly upset that they did not get into a Ph.D. program and said, "OMG it will never happen"...I smiled and pointed to my face (my 60-year-old face) she immediately regrouped and said, "Point taken"❤️
@Susandoyle Haha. On a positive note, my son graduated with his Masters, then had to wait a year for a PhD placement. He handed in his PhD thesis on Friday. :)
@homebird yes, she is upset that some of her dream universities offered her another Masters program. I reminded her that is is often the step to PhD at that university
@Susandoyle It is! It's hard going for them but yes, that is the way the sytem works! Tell her to keep going and never give up!

I have discovered that my state will let you take a college course at one of the public schools tuition free if you are over sixty and there's room in the class.
I have been inspired to perhaps finish my Master's or take another Bachelor's in the future.
It's wonderful when you have someone in your life to give you the inspiration you thought you lacked.
