As someone else commented, it's not the wrong note that matters as much as the note that follows... that can bring it back into the 'proper' mode...
I've seen it done many times by good players...

I found it fun to hear a good player hit a wrong note and then in the very next second wonder if you heard it wrong at all ๐๐ผ
@grayman @tgraph52 I appreciate the joke and at the same time Iโve jammed with hard core Jazz players and had discussions about soloing. The common thread in my small sample was they tied specific modes or the related arpeggios to specific chords. And it comes down to choices within the structure. And that can be great and I appreciate the abstractionists who color outside the lines (while not โJazzโ Jeff Beck was a Jazz player).
