Railroad life:

Securing your train several miles out of town for a road crew to get later on.

Riding back to the office to take of paperwork and log off duty.

Reaching for your thermos for one last cup before the long drive home.

Realizing you left your thermos on the locomotive.

Muttering bad words to yourself as you leave work and drive several miles in the opposite direction of your house to get your thermos back.

...sigh.

@grayman noooooooo *makes note to buy Gray backup thermoses* Thats so sad....

@grayman

My father in law worked for the railroads most of his life... in California and Minnesota. They retired him early with heart issues.
