It only took 5 days to find Honey Bees on any of my hikes. I found Bumble Bees, bee mimics, and beetles but very few Honey Bees.

@gettinaway Thank you for sharing your find. A much appreciated photo.

@Anemone I've been helping my mom out this month in another part of my state. For a break I wander the trails in her area. I've been searching for Honey Bees on all the trails I've visited and these were the first I found on the wildflowers. The mosquitoes and Deer Flies were happy I stopped to take pictures. They like a motionless target.

@gettinaway
You have to be so observant to catch them too. Mosquitoes and deerflies, yah they feast. I wonder it that Deerfly Wingman gadget at Lee Valley Tools does anything to slow them. Google it, I'm not able to get a picture.

@Anemone I usually don't have a problem with either. Mainly the buzzing and close fly-by's. But this year the Deer Flies seem pretty bad. I don't like to put anything on my skin when hiking so I usually suffer a few bites.
