@flygande_ren I was about 75 feet away. There was with a small herd along the Alcan Highway. They were blocking the road and had me stopped. I was able to sit in my car and snap a lot of pictures before they all cleared the road so I could move on.

@realDDGlover Thank you! I never left my car. Having seen to many people approach wildlife I'd rather not be intrusive. But you can see the watchfulness in it's eye. There were also calves nearby so the adults were extra jumpy. As I was driving over a hill in the road I was being cautious about blind areas. These were on the road and along both shoulders so when I stopped they were all around me.
