Any reason, no reason. Day 6 Yayoi Kusama

I discovered 8 her years ago, and she is a favorite.

Kusama has Schizophrenic tendencies, hallucinations and etc. She moved into a mental institution in 1977 & still lives there, her studio across the road.

She is known for infinity rooms/nets, polka dots and installation art. Go to an exhibit if you can!

My take is that she sees the universe at the cellular & atomic level, enough to make anyone "crazy"

Day 5 Pablo Picasso.

Not a favorite, but once I saw the documentary "Mystery of Picasso", I was firmly aware of his genius.
I can't link the film, paywall everywhere, but the video in this article gives a preview, the flavor, of how he figures, refigures and shape shifts.

Day 3 Hilma af Klint

Hilma af Klint was a pioneer of abstraction. This fascinating female artist turned to abstraction several years before Wassily Kandinsky (1866 – 1944), Piet Mondrian (1872 – 1944), and Kazimir Malevich (1878 – 1935). Knowing that her work was ahead of its time, she demanded in her will that her abstract paintings must not be made public until at least 20 years after her death.
