It has begun: small repairs and replacements around our apartment that won't bork the family budget. Yes, we pay out of pocket for stuff like the new bathroom faucet and, no, we do not get reimbursed. Thing is, when the resident manager knows we're handling smaller issues, we encounter less resistance on bigger, more costly ones. Case in point: severe damage to an exterior 1940s door and its jamb from decades of abuse. Heck, door was kicked in multiple times when the former tenants lived here.
