One of our local drugstores has adopted the talk/don't talk shopping basket system. It would've worked if the store managers and staff weren't hard-pressed to automatically approach all shoppers.

Once I had an asthma attack inside the store and leaned against the display shelves to stabilise my breath. The store manager approached and instantly launched into their automatic sales spiel. After I asked him to please stop because I'm trying to breathe, he pouted and left without another word. 🫠
