Texas says they took steps to curb gun violence after the Allen mall shooting by raising the age for the purchase of assault weapons from 18-21? Really? Well, the shooter was 33 years old. This is bullshit.
Any questions here? Because the other half of this gun problem is the hateful rhetoric that not only comes from the virulent right wingnuts on social media, but from the mouths of GOP politicians themselves.
Welcome to America where we've had 191 mass shootings in the first 127 days of the year 2023. No other nation IN THE WORLD has this problem. It's strictly an American phenomenon. Guns are the problem for sure, but so is the GOP. All they have to offer are thoughts and prayers and, clearly, that isn't enough. They refuse to do what needs to be done to stop this carnage.
We should be moving in this direction nationally, but fat chance the GOP will allow it. They are moving in the opposite direction. Until we can vote them out in 2024, every Democratic majority state should be doing what Minnesota is doing.
