Why do the obnoxious sales men at the kiosks in the middle of the mall single me out of a crowd to hard sell whatever potions they are pushing?

Not to sound misogynistic, but it's likely because you're a woman, and most salespeople think women are an easy touch and quick sale. It's what they're often taught in training, or at least, it used to be, anyway, back in the '80s, for example, when I was a Radio Shack store manager, and even in the early '90s, when I sold cars. The basic premise is that women, being "more emotional", will make more impulse buys than men.
It's rubbish, of course, but it's often the case.
