I just looked at my calendar and realized one of my dearest friends died 4 years ago today from COVID.
She and I traveled the globe, from Central America, Mexico, Europe and British Isles.
Both being of Scottish heritage, we spent a month and hundreds of miles driving around Scotland, spending nights in the car (when we were lost), above taverns (when we had no idea where we were)... and sitting on a hilltop on Isle of Skye, sighing at the sunset.

The loss of your friend feels almost tangible and my heart goes out to you.

Those memories of travel with loved ones who are now gone are my favorite and I am so, so glad you have treasured memories of your friend while exploring the world.

I was watching a walking tour of Siena in the office the other day and it brought back memories of a vacation I had with my parents about 4 years before my dad died. It invoked happy tears.

Thank you all for your kind words.
I called her daughter and we spoke for quite for a while. We laughed and cried and relived memories.

I will dig through photo albums and post a pic later of one of our adventures.
Right now, trying to get carpenters lined out.

Again. โ™ฅ โ™ฅ โ™ฅ to you all

What a great memory you have to hold of your Dad. โ™ฅ
