The Scandinavians love them some metal.
Hereโs the Finnish band Lordi with their 2006 Eurovision winning song - Hard Rock Hallelujah:
They sure do! My favourite Scandinavian artist is singer Aurora Aksnes (she's incredible, and from Norway), but here is Dimmu Borgir, complete with choir and orchestra (and a guesting vocalist as well):
This is awesome heavy metal theater. Dimming Borger is Lordi separated at birth. ๐
I prefer the operatic metal of Nightwish, personally, but I need to listen to Aurora Aksnes.
Aurora? Coming right up! (And if you decide you like this, check out her Brasilian shows)
What a lovely song. Aurora has a very pure voice.
And she's not even thirty yet, so if all goes well, we should have her to listen to for a long time to come.
Here is her KEXP Public TV appearance, and it should be noted that the woman singing backup for Aurora during this show and others is no longer with Aurora, having moved on to other things a couple of years ago.
@evamarie
It's gonna sound strange but I learned of these guys and Norwegian metal band Dimmu Borgir at pretty much the same time - and, of course, they couldn't be more different.
