Rodriguez was an American artists who recorded in the early 70’s but didn’t make it, at all. However, he became a rock god in Apartheid South Africa, although the government banned his records.
His story is fascinating and the subject of the 2012 Academy Award winning documentary “Searching for Sugarman”. Highly recommended movie for music fans.

@evamarie @Timmah1979 @DemocracyFu I tried to listen to several of his pieces. I can see how ppl can like him, profound lyrics, good singing voice. I have misophonia and near perfect pitch, there is something they do at the mix/production stage to his voice, a distortion which I can't listen to. To me it sounds as if he is far away and speaking to me, but I can't quite hear, and at the same time whispering in my ear. Can't explain it better than that.
@evamarie @DemocracyFu @Krysdammit I gave it a few listens tonight. I wanted to like this. I loved the lyrics but the sound wasn't working for me. Gave me too much if a neil diamond vibe. Good talent just not my cup of tea . But ya never know til ya listen 🙂
