In my hometown in Massachusetts, was an ice pond which the town called "The Ice Pond", of course. At the pond, was an Ice House where blocks of ice were sawed and put into a delivery truck to be sold up town.

My grandfather was an ice house worker when it burned down.

"Pa" became a university educated engineer and inventor who, later, owned the only factory in town.
