A recent study showed that Black women’s hair was two-and-a-half times more likely to be perceived as unprofessional. hbr.org/2023/05/how-hair-discr

@estherschindler Fuck that. I’m constantly stunned how amazing black women’s (and men’s) hair can be. I noticed a change in the Bay Area after the first Black Panther movie, seeing many more varied styles, but I don’t know if it’s because the film made me aware, or if the film helped the community feel safer expressing all those wonderful styles. As a bald white guy, I’m genuinely jealous. 1/2

@estherschindler It takes a lot of work and care, I’m sure, and that means that it’s as least as professional as some white deeeb with a man bun. 2/2
