Americans are reportedly holding around $21 billion in unused gift cards.
Personally I just found a $25 gift card that someone sent me a year ago.

@estherschindler I am really terrible about using them. I forget I have them. I have gotten in the habit of giving them to hubby, because he tends to remember better than I do. Plus, he’s very frugal and would make sure nothing goes to waste, where I am a lot more lax.
@GrandmaJ People give them to me for stores where I don't shop, e.g. Starbucks.

I think anything left on the $25 Blockbuster card I came across recently is gonna have to be a write-off.
