One expert interviewed by The Post said he polled 11 cybersecurity experts on whether any of them had ever done a data migration such as the Secret Service has described without a plan for backing up and restoring data. None of them had. washingtonpost.com/technology/

@estherschindler Doing any sort of migration, update, or anything without a full backup is career-ending for any IT person, let alone someone with the chops to work for the Secret Service. Most orgs have a backup plan running 24/7 - that's what the IT Department DOES.

This is a crime and a coverup - 100%. I said it when it happened, and I'm saying it again now. There is NO WAY this wasn't 100% intentional, and took a lot of effort to accomplish.

@PoliticalEd Oh I agree absolutely.

Usually I operate on the premise, "Never attribute to malice what can be explained by stupidity" but this is so far beyond stupid that it doesn't apply.
