For today's #CoSoCars post here is the Maserati 3200 GT. It mounted a Maserati AM 585 twin turbo V8 engine of 3217 cc and a power output of 370 PS/272 kW. The available transmissions were a Getrag 226 6-speed manual transmission (1998-2001) or a BTR M72LE 4-speed automatic transmission (1999-2002).
@elleci42a Don't even bother with them, just block them
@researchbuzz This is a (negative) milestone, my first block on CoSo
@elleci42a So people just got to run around cutting up, what are you going to do π€·
@researchbuzz Not sure... Anyway what do you think of the car?
@elleci42a It is very melty looking! It might be the angle, but the side panel, the area between the front wheel and the back wheel -- almost looks like it's slightly concave? It's kind of weirding me out
@researchbuzz It is. The Maserati 3200 GT has been the first car ever to introduce LED lights, more precisely those boomerang shaped rear lights. They've been deemed not compliant with the US regulations about the night visibility of vehicles and for this reason the 3200 GT lasted very little on the market. It has been replaced by the Maserati Coupè which had traditional rear lights to comply with the US regulations
@elleci42a Why wouldn't the lights be compliant? is it because they were the first ones to do it and US regulators weren't ready for it?
@researchbuzz Who knows...
@elleci42a @researchbuzz Do they just size you up by eye before they sell you the car or do you have come in under Mushroom Dick size to own that?
