For today's of Italy toot here are two road signs introduced by the Public Works Ministry circular letter n. 1357 of 07 May 1985. They're used when there is a low clearance underpass or in a level crossing of a railway with aerial electric cables and they indicate the height limit (in the examples it's 4,20 metres). This roadsign is still in use with a different graphic

@elleci42a Oh dear, this is giving me flashbacks, lol! Several years ago I was in a rental truck going under the famous "Canopener Bridge" in Durham.

We got stuck! Someone had to come and deflate the tires and drag us out. Thankfully the truck was not too damaged.

(No I wasn't driving! πŸ˜‚ )

@researchbuzz 🀭. Mind me I saw that this bridge has got a Wikipedia article in Italian too lol

@researchbuzz In my city there is a underpass with a clearance of only 2,20 metres where too often vans get stuck. The problem is that it can't be raised because of the presence of a gas duct

@elleci42a I don't think there's a gas line with ours. I think they just like having a bridge that eats trucks, lol!

We were supposed to be doing a job that day but everybody was very casual when we couldn't. "Oh, you hit the bridge, huh? All right."

@elleci42a lol I can still hear the CRUNCH as we went under, wedged in, and got stuck.
