For today's of Italy toot here is the 12 metres trolleybus AnsaldoBreda F19 (2000-2005), based upon the BredaMenariniBus Monocar 240. It mounts an Ansaldo MTA-F4-185V electric traction engine with a continuous power output of 197 kW and a VM Motori EP 638 LI auxiliary Diesel engine (L6, 3749 cmΒ³-228.8 cu in, 95 kW-130 PS). In the pic there is the F19 nΒ°F9101 of ANM Napoli on the line 254, which purchased 80 AnsaldoBreda F19 in 2000.

@elleci42a I love the color and the fact that it's not wrapped all over with advertisements!

@researchbuzz Indeed. This trolleybus has been sold also to the French city of Nancy (AnsaldoBreda F22) but they refused to pay the trolleybuses because of a failed test due to the different height of the aerial electric wires. After a legal dispute the parts reached a settlement agreement where the Nancy City council gave back the trolleybuses to the manufacturer but one that was already paid. After some revampings the returned trolleybuses were bought by Conerobus of Ancona.

@elleci42a Oh, man, that doesn't sound fun at all. There are so many issues of infrastructure that it's hard to keep all of them in mind at the same time.

@researchbuzz Indeed. Now the AnsaldoBreda F22 that remained in Nancy has been preserved by an association of buses enthusiasts that preserve the old buses

@elleci42a Is it still used as a bus, or some kind of museum?

@elleci42a Oh that's good! We have a park in my city called Pullen Park. There's an old restored caboose there kids can climb on and play in, and a 1/3 size train you can get a ticket for and ride around the park.

Here's a picture of what it looks like. When I saw a kid they didn't have the nice steps, you just had to scramble up the side!
